Saudi housing shortage

A survey by the Riyadh Chamber of Commerce has revealed that Saudi Arabia's population is set to cross 26m by 2010 and population growth in some areas is outstripping the construction of housing units, reported Arab News. New housing development in Baha, Hail, Al-Jouf and Jizan is below the annual population growth rate of 2.5%. Many of these areas have been earmarked for new low lost housing initiatives.
