DCA launches Together with Lebanon Campaign
- United Arab Emirates: Sunday, August 20 - 2006 at 11:40
- PRESS RELEASE
Dubai Department of Civil Aviation, under the patronage of HH Sheikh Ahmed Bin Saeed Al Maktoum, President of DCA and Chairman of Emirates Group, launched on Sunday a campaign titled Together with Lebanon.
Dubai Duty Free was the first to contribute to the campaign. Colm Mcloughlin, DDF Managing Director, addressed the gathering at the launch ceremony and announced a donation of AED 250,000 to set the ball rolling for the campaign.
Following the official launch of the campaign, Sheikh Ahmed said that while it was good that the violence was over, the task of restoring the lives of people back to normal was just beginning. "This campaign is to express our support for the people of Lebanon and to invite others to join in this cause," he said.
Sheikh Ahmed noted that life is resilient and therefore stronger than death. The beautiful cities of Lebanon that have been razed to the ground will flourish again, he said, and added that Lebanon will rise from the ruins.
The event was attended by senior officials from the Department of Civil Aviation, Dubai Duty Free, the Emirates Group; Dubai Naturalisation and Residency Department, Dubai Customs, and the Airport Police, as well as dignitaries from the Lebanese Business Council in Dubai.
