Six seek Saudi air licences

Six companies are competing to win two licences from Saudi Arabia's Government Authority of Civil Aviation to commence commercial air services in the kingdom, reported Gulf News. Two of the competitors, Sama Airlines and National Air Services, have already indicated that they intend to run as low cost carriers. The government will make a decision by the end of the year and the winners will compete against national carrier, Saudia.
