Gulf Cement, 2008 production

The Gulf Cement Company, which was listed today on the DSM, aims to be operational in 2008, reported The Peninsula. Land in the Umm Bab Industrial Area has already been acquired and the engineering, procurement and design contract has been awarded to two international firms. The venture should be completed in 20 months time and production should start 90 days later; initial production will be 5,000 tonnes per day.
