- PRESS RELEASE
Aiming to console the Lebanese and Palestinian people the International Tobacco and Cigarettes Company (ITC), recently sent generous donations to war struck Lebanon and Palestine, as contribution to the ongoing humanitarian relief efforts in both countries.
Taking its act of goodwill a step further, the management of ITC also sent out a fully equipped ambulance to Lebanon. The ambulance was purchased by the firm for the purpose of transporting injured war victims.
"These donations are our modest way of responding to the devastation that war has brought upon both the Lebanese and Palestinian people, as they have been deprived of their very basic right to safety. This act of good will comes in compliance with His Majesty King Abdullah II's vision for helping citizens in need, and especially those individuals living in neighboring countries " said ITC's General Manager Mr. Samer Fakhouri.
"The challenges that lie ahead for these two countries are great, but we plan to be involved in the relief efforts, regardless of the time and resources they might take. It is through the act of giving that we feel we are an integral part of our surroundings. And on this occasion, let me just say that it fills my heart with joy to see the readiness and enthusiasm with which my entire team took part in the collection of donation. If anything, their eagerness demonstrates that at the end of the day, ITC forms a solid part of this region, and that we adopt this region's hardships as our own. I realize that no amount of money can compensate for the emotional turmoil that war brings upon its victims, but we do what we can, and we at ITC will continue to do what we feel is right and just for both our community and its neighbors" he added.
