Art of every hue showing at Reef Mall

Artists of various nationalities and background, from amateur hobbyists to serious professionals will be exhibiting at the DSS in-mall event running until August 28.

One of the participants, Chhabi Sahai, started painting at the age of 10, and will be showing her portraits, landscapes and still life in oil, water, pastels and charcoal.

Art Oasis will go on until August 28, from 10am to 10pm, with artists and workshops holding fort from 5pm to 10pm every day.

In keeping with the oasis theme, each artist has a dedicated area to exhibit their work. The artists will also do a live demonstrations of their work on an elevated stage in the middle of an oasis full of water.

This is the first time that this event has been organised during DSS. An art exhibition of world famous paintings and sculptures is displayed across the mall (mainly on the second floor). Interactive art workshops for pottery painting, 3D Art Sculpture and wood carving and a live painting demo are to be held daily from 5pm to 10pm.

The 10-week long DSS, which opened with Ice Surprises week on June 21, celebrated the Arts Surprises Week, International Food Surprises, Adventure Surprises, Cartoon Surprises, Nature Surprises, Knowledge Surprises, Flower Surprises and continues with the weekly themes of Heritage Surprises and will conclude with Back-to-School Surprises on September 1.
