Proxim also recently won the coveted Frost & Sullivan Award for Product Innovation in the field of Scalable Wireless Broadband Systems. The annual award is presented to a company that has demonstrated excellence in new products and technologies within its industry.
The two product lines singled out by Frost & Sullivan include the Wimax Forum Certified Tsunami MP.16, the only system that enables optimal data rate connectivity and interoperability with Intel-based subscriber units. Proxim's other significant innovation, the enhanced version of its Tsunami MP.11, delivers the capabilities of fixed and mobile Wimax for license-free frequency bands worldwide with features such as roaming with seamless hand-offs at speeds up to 200 km/hr, WiMAX Quality of Service (QoS), and enhanced dynamic frequency election (DFS).
"Proxim Wireless won this award for its exceptional ability to provide scalable WiMAX solutions that can be deployed individually or in multi-sector configurations, allowing a wider range of service providers to use Wimax technology - from rural providers requiring less dense configurations to metropolitan providers who need to support more nodes at closer range," said Sivakumar Muthuramalingam, research analyst at Frost & Sullivan.
