The sittings will be increased from the original 4 per year to 6 per year commencing in 2007.
The agreement was formed due to the increase in demand for the CISSP from the UAE and regional countries. The CISSP is a unique certification offered for it field in IT Security, and the Etisalat Academy is the only representative for (ISC)2 in the region since 2003.
The CISSP exams were held last week at the Etisalat Academy in Dubai. 48 nominees specialized in Internet Security working in different governmental bodies and companies in UAE, Oman, Qatar, Pakistan, India, and South Africa submitted the exams at the Academy.
Dr. Doaa Fares, General Manager Etisalat Academy said, 'Etisalat Academy, the sole regional centre for holding such international exams as the CISSP, exceeds its role in enhancing professional cadres, regionally and internationally, in IT Security by offering specialized courses and programmes.
'This has lead to the improvement of our professionals in general and the development of a technology-savvy society. The international organization, (ISC)2, appointed Etisalat Academy as its regional representative based on the Academy's reputation in the fields of developing professionals and vocational training, especially in the IT domain.'
Applicants are required to achieve a minimum of 700 points to pass their tests to get their international certificate in Information Technology security.
Applicants are also required to provide all the required documents to the concerned division in the academy for registration to receive their approvals for the exam's applications, after submitting the degree signed by one of the internationally registered members in coordination with the Academy to prove the practical practice and the working experience of the candidate.
The CISSP certificate is considered an important certificate for those willing towards developing and improving their profession and career in Information Technology.
The international authority for IT security specifies the knowledge domains that are considered as international standard specialized for IT security experts. This includes web security, IT security administration, system development, and operation security.
Due to increase in demand, Etisalat Academy will offer 6 CISSP exams sittings in 2007
Etisalat Academy has come to an agreement with International Information Technology Security Consortium (ISC)2 to increase the number of the Certified Internet Security Specialist Professional (CISSP) exam sittings.
