Emirates Bank appoints new Head of Cards

Emirates Bank recently appointed Mr. Robin Mukherjee as Head of Cards.
Robin holds an Honours Degree in Economics and Languages from South Bank University London. He continued his studies in France and Germany and is fluent in both languages. He also attended the International Executive Programme at INSEAD in both Paris and Singapore.
Robin joins Emirates Bank from MasterCard Worldwide (Europe region), where he spent 8 years, handling various roles. Most recently, he was Senior Account Lead responsible for the development of all aspects of the MasterCard Business with a large French bank that represented a portfolio of over 7 million debit and credit cards in Europe.
Also within MasterCard, Robin led various sales negotiations for incremental business and strategic marketing initiatives intended to grow the portfolios in Premium Products, Commercial Products, revolving credit cards and merchant acquiring programmes within the bank.
His successes include launching the Platinum Card and reinvigorating the Gold Card proposition, accelerating the growth of Business Cards for SME's and launching both the French Public Sector Purchasing Card and the Multinational Corporate Card Programme.
During his time with MasterCard, Robin also managed and supported account relationships with banks in France, Scandinavia and Eastern Europe as well as leading the Product Development and Marketing Group for small and large market commercial products.
Prior to MasterCard, Robin spent 10 years working for American Express Europe. He started his career in Brighton, England at the European Operations Centre as a Business Analyst, before being appointed Technical Sales Manager for Travellers Cheques and Foreign Exchange services in Paris. In the same division, he moved into a Regional Sales Management role, leading a team of account managers, where he gained considerable multi-cultural experience in negotiating and consulting with key European Banks.
Robin brings to Emirates Bank his diverse and comprehensive international experience in payment cards, transactions and payment systems business. This, coupled with his energetic and enthusiastic approach to his work, will undoubtedly help him in providing effective leadership for the Emirates Bank Card Team.
