While the Etihad loyalty programme is not set to be unveiled until next week, Etihad's reservations offices have received strong levels of interest from would-be members within hours of the first announcement made just a week ago.

Similarly, Etihad's website and call centres have also reported record enquiries from the travelling public keen to find out how they could benefit from the revolutionary initiative.

Peter Baumgartner, head of marketing for Etihad Airways, reflected:

"We are delighted that our revolutionary approach to Guest recognition has already created such a stir amongst the public. Our aim had always been to challenge the inflexible approach of existing programmes and to inspire the industry to follow our customer-focused lead."

"The public's response, especially at such an early stage before the actual launch, has served to reinforce our belief that we are simply catering to what people have long been crying out for - a scheme that rewards the loyalty of our respected Guests while adding value to their experience."

Etihad's reward programme will be launching worldwide at the end of the month. Once launched, membership will be free and mile accrual immediate, with individuals from every country aged 2 years old and upwards eligible to join. Further information will be available upon a dedicated website that will be launched at the same time.

Membership forms will also be available on board all Etihad flights, reservations offices, lounges (Abu Dhabi and London) and check-in desks.

Alternatively, following the launch Guests will also be able to request an enrolment form by calling the service centre and mailing the completed form to the local address provided.
