Mirinda's first sponsorship of DSS a great success

Exciting activities and interactive games have drawn more than 3000 children to the Mirinda stall at Modhesh Fun City, part of this year's Dubai Summer Surprises (DSS).

May El-Labban, Marketing Projects Manager, Dubai Refreshments Company (DRC) said, "This is the first time Mirinda has supported DSS, and we are delighted with the results. Mirinda has had great exposure, and the enthusiasm of young DSS visitors has been tremendous."

Through a combination of games and learning activities, the stall succeeded in bringing out the hidden talents of its young participants. Children between the ages of eight and 15 took part in drawing board games and puzzles taking away attractive prizes in weekly raffle draws.

"Participation in events such as DSS is a great opportunity to interact with our consumers directly. Events such as these are great marketing platforms and give us a chance to give something back to the community," she added.

"This year's sponsorship was very successful with more than 100 kids visiting the stall every day and that figure doubled during the raffle draws."

Mirinda gave away gifts to all participants and raffled off special prizes in draws every Thursday. Over a period of six weeks, 54 lucky children went home with a total of six Sony Playstations, 18 trendy watches, 20 scooter boards and CD players.

El-Labban added: "Prizes worth thousands of dirhams were given away during the summer. Kids loved the prizes and we loved putting those smiles on their faces."

Moreover, Mirinda, a key DSS sponsor at the Modhesh Fun City, also made sure that children with special needs were part of the fun, thanks to the great support from volunteers at the stand.

Dubai Refreshments Company, the sole franchisee and distributor for PepsiCo in Dubai, Sharjah and the Northern Emirates, had supported DSS with the 7Up brand.
