The unique event took four months and a whopping sum of Dh3 million to be set up.

Organised by the Dubai Real Estate Department, Safari Adventures is a better and brighter redesigned event this year, aimed at attracting a larger number of visitors.

It has become a destination for the whole family and a place where both children and adults can enjoy and entertain themselves. Over a thousand daily visitors, and double that number on weekends, have been captivated by the exhibit.

"We organised Safari Adventures for the second year in a row. It runs for a longer time than other DSS activities, and will be open until September 1," said Ahmad Al Maquody, Head of Public Relations and Promotion at Dubai's Real Estate Department, and coordinator of the Safari Adventures supervising team.

"We have added new attractions this year, such as horse, camel and pony riding tracks, which the kids enjoyed greatly. We also added an Arabic tent, where we exhibited our folklore and heritage with live falcons. Visitors loved taking pictures with the falcons. We also serve Arabic coffee. This year, we also added a shooting track, to give participants the feel of a hunting safari," he added.

Apart from the event at DWTC, Safari Adventures has three weekly events in other venues: performances of the Jungle Group in Lamcy Plaza on Tuesdays, at Dubai International Airport on Wednesdays (along with welcome gifts to arriving visitors), and BurJuman on Thursdays.

Surprise gifts are also distributed at EPPCO petrol stations. Special sports teams were also welcomed in the Safari activities, which the team members enjoyed greatly.

A new website for Safari Adventures has also been launched, within the Real Estate Departments website, www.red.gov.ae, where one can find information and see pictures. The website also has information about Modhesh Fun City, DSS, and archived images and media clippings from previous years.

Scheduled to conclude on September 1, Safari Adventures is open to the public everyday from 10am to 10 pm on weekdays and from 3pm to 11pm on Fridays.
