Sony adds 2 new photos printers to its popular photo printer range

Compact and lightweight, each printer weighs only about 1kg and requires minimal storage space. The advanced dye-sublimation technology in both DPP-FP55 and DPP-FP35 PictureStation printers reproduce lifelike photos of up to 16.7 million colours with smooth gradual tones. With Sony's proprietary Super Coat 2 lamination, memories in the photos can now be preserved for a lifetime, with protection from fading, yellowing and distortion by fingerprints, dust and sunlight. The photos are also water-resistant for extra assurance.

DPP-FP55 Provides Full Functions and High Speed

To view, manage, edit or print your photos without the need for a TV or a PC, the new DPP-FP55 model comes equipped with a large 2.0" colour TFT LCD screen and a simple control panel. With an approximately 63 seconds printing speed, this high-speed DPP-FP55 can produce a postcard-sized photo with minimal waiting time. This photo printer offers a variety of value-added image editing options such as photo calendar creation, addition of special effects, photo index printing and red eye reduction.

Besides printing from the PC or via PictBridge™, its multi-format storage media support feature is optimized for users to print from Memory Stick™, Memory Stick Duo™, Memory Stick™ Micro (M2) with M2 adapter and SD card at high speed, even for high mega pixel images. This gives users a wider choice to print their photos directly with convenience without connecting to the PC and other devices such as a true standalone printer.

DPP-FP35 is Hassle-free and Affordable

For users who want an easy-to-use and affordable printer in their homes, the DPP-FP35 provides direct printing from PictBridge™-enabled digital still cameras, camcorders and mobile phones or from the PC via USB cable. Each postcard-sized photo takes about 77 seconds to print on the DPP-FP35.

Accompanying Print Media

Both of the new printers can use media already available on the market. Sony currently sells three different packs of print media for 40, 80 or 120 prints (SVM-F40P, SVM-F80P and SVM-F120P respectively). All print media packages contain both photo paper and ink ribbon cartridge ensuring no additional printing costs.
