PC shipments to Gulf up 43%

PC shipments in the GCC rose by nearly 43% in 2005 to more than 1.6m units, valued at $1.8bn, according to a study by the IDC. Saudi Arabia and the UAE were the top two PC markets in the GCC last year, with Kuwait ranking third. Notebooks were the driving force of the GCC markets, with shipments jumping by more than 75% and accounting for 48% of total market volume.
