Over 80 UAE national students from high schools, higher colleges of technology and universities spent the past summer months working in various departments of the Emirates Group, ranging from Dnata Baggage Services to Emirates Flight Operations.

They were presented with certificates on Monday 28th August at a ceremony at the Emirates Aviation College by Munther Akram Juma, Emirates' Vice President National Recruitment & Development, and Dr Howard Reed, Director - Dubai Women's College.

Addressing the graduates, Munther Akram Juma said: "Over 500 students applied for places in our Summer Training Scheme and just 99 of you were chosen. You must feel very special.

"We thank you for spending your summer vacation working with us and participating in this exciting industry. We are sure that Emirates' management will welcome you back on the successful completion of your studies."

Also honoured were Emirates employees who participated in the recent Careers Fair 2006, helping over 2,000 young people apply for career training programmes with Emirates. The team had also visited 21 schools around the UAE to create awareness of the company's career opportunities.
