Middle East Economic Digest (MEED) has appointed Sean Brierley as Editor-in-Chief to lead editorial content on the market-leading weekly magazine and website for the Middle East and North Africa.
Brierley commented: "This is a great opportunity to join the brand at the forefront of business journalism in the Middle East for 50 years.
"This is a challenging and exciting time for the regional economy and for MEED. It demands intelligent, insightful and objective journalism. It also demands innovation and constant improvement."
He indicated that his remit will include several major initiatives for MEED and MEED.com that will build on the brand's strength and authority in the region.
Brierley has been a journalist for 18 years. He has edited three weekly business magazines - The Lawyer, The Engineer and Finance Week. He was part of the launch team of Finance Week and financeweek.co.uk in November 2004 as a result of his role running new magazine development at Centaur Communications.
He is also a past deputy editor of Marketing Week and former lecturer at Liverpool John Moores University, as well as the author of a top-selling book on the advertising industry for university students.
