The industry showcase, organised by dmg world media Dubai Ltd one of the region's leading exhibition companies based in Dubai, is due to take place on June 3-5 2007, at the Dubai International Exhibition Centre.

"At this year's event we hosted 700 exhibitors from 46 different countries, which was a 30 per cent increase over the previous year. With the regional hospitality industry in such buoyant mood, we are confident that our projections for 2007 will be realised," commented Maggie Moore, Exhibition Director, The Hotel Show.
Visitor numbers have also increased enormously over the last two years. In 2005 the show attracted 8,124 visitors, which was a 44 per cent increase over the previous year and this year more than 11,500 trade visitors were recorded, a further increase of 42 per cent. Visitor profiles included, regional owner-operators, key decision makers from international five-star hotel chains, procurement specialists, and, architects and interior designers.

Almost half of those registered came from outside of Dubai, clearly indicating the mounting international interest in the event, especially from Kuwait, Iran and Western Europe. Indeed it was the enhanced quality of visitors that contributed towards the success of the show, this year, Managing Directors and General Managers accounted for over a third of the total visitors, giving exhibitors access to key decision makers, boosting their on-site orders and providing quality sales leads.

In 2007, The Hotel Show, will premier its technology, systems and security pavilion. The decision to sectorise these elements was taken following consultation and feedback from both exhibitors and visitors at this year's show.

The outstanding success of the inaugural Seven Star Conference this year, with headline speaker Karim Rashid, has encouraged The Hotel Show management to further develop this parallel event, and more international speakers and industry leaders will speak in 2007.

Next year Karim will again feature, this time in the context of the show itself. In conjunction with DEPA United Group, he will be presenting a concept hotel bedroom that will take centre stage at the show.

The Association of Professional Interior Designers' (APID) has also announced their intention to host their second Hotel Show Furniture Design Competition. The competition will focus on both experienced and newly qualified working designers. Prunobon will be a main sponsor of the competition and will manufacture samples of the winning designs to be showcased at The Hotel Show 2007.
