The QFC Authority is designed to attract international financial institutions and multi-national corporates to establish business operations in a "best-in-class" international environment. The agreement with iHorizons, the pioneering company in Internet/Intranet software and portal development, is to build an advanced interactive portal for the QFC Authority as it grows its capabilities and the information and process needs of the organization expand.

The portal will be launched within the next few months with a specialized team from the Authority continuously updating their internal content. The Intranet portal will support both information archive as well as dynamic information exchange and process activities.

The portal will be powered by iHorizons Knowledge Server (Light Edition), the system used by different clients in Qatar and the region such as the Al Jazeera Channel and the Qatar Football Association. This system enables various working teams to create, edit and publish texts, images and audio/video clips through an easy-to-use user interface.

"The two parties consider this agreement a far reaching strategic project that will help the QFC Authority achieve maximum efficiency in its management of information," says Khalid Halaweh, iHorizons Country Manager. "Our in-house capability, the strength and scale of our organization, and our ability to deliver the required solution for the QFC Authority were key factors in our winning this important contract."
