The organizing committee for the International Defence Exhibition and Conference (IDEX) 2013 today announced 95% of available exhibition space has been reserved by exhibitors.

According to the committee, chaired by HE Major General Obaid Al Ketbi, and in the presence of HE Ali Saeed Bin Harmal Al Dhaheri, Managing Director of the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Company, (ADNEC) representatives of the federal and local government and Armed Forces GHQ, the early sell out represents the highest demand demonstrated in the event's two decade history.

"The strong demand from local and international exhibitors reinforces the growing importance of IDEX," said IDEX Director, Saleh Almarzooqi. "IDEX is a key forum for leading players in the defence industry to showcase the latest technologies and innovations. While benefiting from nearly 20 years of experience, the exhibition keeps its pioneering position in the defence industry though consistent development and proactive management as we work to match growing industry trends. Our Unmanned Systems Area, bolstered country pavilions and enhanced second edition of NAVDEX will help ensure we remain amongst the world's prominent joint defence exhibitions."

IDEX is held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, and supported by His Highness Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, and His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces.

Organized by ADNEC in coordination with the UAE Armed Forces GHQ and headline sponsor Tawazun, IDEX will take place at Abu Dhabi's National Exhibition Centre from the 17th - 21st of February, 2013.
