Last day of Modhesh Fun City and all the DSS revellery

MFC, the nerve centre of all DSS action at Dubai World Trade Center, is concluding its 72 days long run.
The last day of DSS is overloaded with several innovative events and one-of-a-kind experiences for the whole family. The ongoing Back-2-School Surprises week, organised by Dubai Department of Economic Development, and DSS will conclude in a grand closing ceremony where everyone's invited to participate.
This Friday, Modhesh Fun City will host the closing ceremony of the DSS. The grand raffles for various ongoing DSS promotions will also be held.
Saeed Al Nabouda, DSS CEO, said, "This star attraction of DSS had a larger number of visitors compared to last year simply because the attractions this year including new games and competitions are larger than before. Up till last Monday, August 28, over 390,000 visitors came in, which proves that the Modhesh Fun City as always was a big success and the 10th edition next year which will host a new look Fun City.'
Laila Suhail, DSS Executive Project Director, said, "I am happy to say that the Modhesh Fun City in its seventh year had a larger number of sponsors, participants and exhibitors which helped us to host a number of free events like the activities on the Modhesh Main Stage that had more than 20 popular shows concluding with the famous Walt Disney's Jungle Book stage show as well as the Al Youla traditional competitions held in a specially created ground and stage.'
"Dubai Summer Surprises is an excellent example of how organisations across Dubai work together to provide a series of unique experiences for residents and visitors, transforming what used to be the traditionally slow summer period into a highlight of the year," said Helal Saeed Al Marri, Director General, Dubai World Trade Centre.
"DWTC supports DSS as part of our continued commitment to the community and also to support the wider drive to promote Dubai as a year-round tourist destination. We look forward to a long and ongoing relationship with this magnificent event," added Al Marri.
Spread across a sprawling 16,000 square metres, Modhesh Fun City occupies Halls 2 to 6 of the Dubai International Convention Centre while Hall 7 is dedicated to the Real Estate Department organised Safari Adventures also concluding today.
Alongside Modhesh Fun City, the Dubai World Trade Centre is also hosting interesting events for the whole family. Only at The Safari Adventure exhibit can you watch llamas, parrots, tarantulas, pythons and other exotic wildlife. The one-of-a-kind zoological show at Hall No. 7 has been drawing crowds for its caves with various reptile species, turtle lake, fish lake, Insect Tunnel with more than 100 species of insects kept in transparent moulds, Parrot Jungle and other wild animal exhibits.
The Back to School exhibition at Modhesh Fun City, organised by the Dubai Department of Economic Development (DED), as part of the Dubai Summer Surprises (DSS), features more than 32 stalls for families to shop for school supplies in comfort. On offer are a wide variety of school supplies, stationery, toys, books and even children's fashion accessories.
Modhesh Fun City is designed so that children can hone their skills through dedicated zones for different activities be it arts, sports or theatre and music. A dedicated entertainment hall with international stage shows, football matches on TV and movies on the latest 4D cinema, along with funfair area with children's rides and games makes it a complete edutainment experience. The new additions of Toddler's Zone and Bim Bam Boom (Music it's Fun) attracted a lot of people.
For those seeking an outlet to showcase their talents a talent hall has been opened complete with art and craft, sand art and sculpting zones. The Tech Hall comes with touch screen games and high-tech facilities while the Construction Hall offers a giant puzzle corner for some exercise of the mind.
The Adventure Hall houses bouncing castles and a sports zone with facilities to play basketball and football to encourage sporting talents among the youngsters. The Services Hall has a Modhesh Salon for haircuts, the Modhesh Studio to take photos home and a merchandise store.
On Friday , the timings are 3 to 11pm.
