The three day summit organized by the World Development Forum in association with United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and the League of Arab States opens on 3 September, 2006
Dr. Saeed Al Barwani, CEO, eHosting DataFort, said:
"The GT summit is a high profile event that will draw leading IT vendors and solution providers to showcase their products to relevant decision makers in the Middle East from the public sector, including senior government entities."
Referring to the UAE as the "most wired" nation in the Middle East, Al Barwani added: "Investment in advancing the information technology sector in the Middle East will continue to grow. The sheer number of international and high-tech enterprises that have established offices in the Middle East, compounded with government support, has prompted the expansion of IT throughout the region."
Dean Polley, Commercial Director of eHosting DataFort, will be a keynote speaker at the GT Summit and Exhibition, and present a segment on Data Centres - Trends & Technologies: Achieving Excellence in Service Management, as part of eHosting DataFort's sponsorship of the highly anticipated event.
"It is to the credit of governments in the Middle East that milestone ICT projects have been launched in the region, specifically in the UAE, Jordan and Saudi Arabia," said Polley.
"These governments have also set an example by introducing stringent legal consequences for technology related offences that include cyber crime, copyright infringement, and piracy issues."
The Government Technology Summit will focus on the challenges of the IT industry. It will study the issues of e-government and mobile government, the Digital City, collaboration & integration, smart cards, electronic records, IT consolidation, information security, IT infrastructure, storage & disaster recovery, document management, ERP, CRM, and Business Intelligence.
