Commenting on the summer training programs, DP World - UAE's Human Resources Director, Nasser Al Madani, said
"It is DP World - UAE's responsibility to provide job opportunities to the nationals, develop their skills and enhance their capabilities to ensure a successful career path. DP World - UAE identifies aptitude among the young nationals and provides them with extensive focused training in order to fast track their progression. The objective is to create potential leaders who can take up senior positions in all areas of the business."
Students from various education levels attended the summer training program. DP World - UAE welcomed both private and public secondary school, college and university students.
The summer trainees learnt various tasks in the departments they worked in. Trainees in Human Resources Department were exposed to recruitment and training procedures and were also allowed to observe employee interviews and learn about how to conduct a successful job interview. In the Commercial Department the trainees practiced marketing, sales and customer service procedures. As for the Marine Department, the trainees were trained about the operations of the control tower and different types of tug boats and vessels.
Other departments in which the trainees experienced and practiced the tasks and operations of DP World - UAE are the Finance Department, the Technical Department, the IT Department and the Operations Department.
Following the successful completion in the summer training program, distinguished trainees are given the opportunity to work with DP World - UAE in the future based on advanced evaluation criteria.
Plans are already underway to enroll the next batch of trainees at DP World - UAE with outlines and programs being prepared to train them to a higher level of competency.
