The gathering will assess the emerging business opportunities in the currently booming Saudi energy sector - natural gas & oil refining, petrochemicals, other energy-intensive sectors like steel, non-ferrous metals & minerals, downstream industries and infrastructure, especially power generation & desalination.
In conjunction with the Energy Forum, there will also be an international exhibition of energy - related industries, projects and services.
The Forum, organized with the support of the Ministry of Petroleum & Mineral Resources, Saudi Aramco and other global energy leaders, will be inaugurated by HRH Prince Mohammed bin Fahd, Governor of the Eastern Province. These details have been announced by the President of the Chamber, Mr. Abdulrahman Al Rashid.
The keynote speech will be delivered by H.E. Ali Al Naimi, Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources.
The thrust of the Forum will be on the following themes:
- Problems and prospects for upstream gas development in Saudi Arabia.
- Future project opportunities for petrochemicals in the context of Saudi entry into WTO.
- Leveraging hydrocarbons for energy-intensive industries.
- Opportunities for investment in refining.
- Growth potential of downstream industries
- Project Finance.
- Support services for the Energy-intensive industries.
- Export prospects for Saudi energy- oriented industries.
Saudi Energy Forum to be held in November
The Saudi Energy Forum, to be held from 18th to 20th November 2006 at the Eastern Province Chamber of Commerce & Industry, Dammam, will be a unique international gathering of Saudi and international experts.
