Abu Dhabi leads on IT spend

Abu Dhabi is emerging as a hot spot for IT firms, with the emirate expected to account for 46% of the UAE's total IT spending in 2006, according to UAE-based e-government specialist Itqan quoted by Gulf News. Total spend on IT services and systems will reach $1.6bn this year, $1.8bn in 2007 and $1.9bn in 2008.
