Used papers from companies within the private sector present a burden on the environment if there was no plan for recycling. It is a national duty of each decision maker to encourage increasing environmental awareness and creating an infrastructure to support in what is best to our society. Therefore, Solidarity launched an environmental awareness campaign to educate staff from all levels to collect used papers and deliver them to Awal Waste Est. recycling factory.

The participation of the private sector plays a major role in building a healthy society where sharing responsibilities towards the community becomes a trend. The effort required starts from the believe in our responsibility towards the community and then a decision to simply collect used papers, within our companies, on daily basis and deliver them to Awal Waste Est.

Commenting on the launch of the Environmental Awareness Campaign, Ashraf Bseisu, GM/ Finance & Corporate Management said "The participation of the private sector in social activities is an important step in building a solid community. Issues related to providing a healthy environment is a cause that every one should support. Several Environmental Experts are focusing on how to benefit from the used papers. Our duty is to support this cause by simply spreading out the idea of recycling where we manage to collect used papers and send it out to recycling factories. This process plays a dual role in saving the environment and providing an economic understanding. The latest research showed that producing one tone of papers, using recycled papers, will save 4,100 watt/hour in power, 25 square liter in water and 24 KG reduction in air pollution."

Bassel Hanbali, Head of Corporate Communications & Marketing said "The concept of Takaful is built on the idea of sharing responsibilities and Solidarity's main core value is to support the community. According these facts, Solidarity management and staff have decided to share in building a solid community starting by protecting the environment and moving to educating staff about the importance of being an active and responsible member within a society"

Ebrahim Rawther, GM/ Awal Est., added: "We are receiving a lot of support, presented in material to be recycled, from individuals and companies within the Kingdom of Bahrain. These materials are being transformed to different types of bags. Solidarity, being an active supporter to our environment, has committed to continues participation in providing used papers for recycling as a jest to spread awareness about the responsibility to our community and the danger of ignoring the healthy well being of the environment to live in. We thank Solidarity and all companies and individuals who do such participation and we welcome any further support for this project".
