Government leaders to discuss current regional issues at one-day conference

The Mohammad Bin Rashid Leadership Development Programme in collaboration with Dubai School of Government is organising the first of its kind "State of the Region" conference on 9 September, as part of the Government Leaders Programme initiative.
Adel Al Shared, Director of Government Leaders Programme, said, "The Arab world has witnessed numerous political and economic challenges due to recurrent instability involving Iraq, Palestine and Lebanon, in addition to the increasing prices of oil and the long term challenge of reform and development.
"Through debates on current political and economic issues, the conference will bring government leaders face-to-face with real time problems that need to be resolved urgently for the region to keep pace with the rest of the world."
The "State of the Region" conference will comprise four sessions based on Regional Security and Instability, Political Governance and Reform, Oil Market and Regional Economy, and Family Corporations in the Gulf.
The Government Leaders Programme is an innovative leadership and executive development initiative that offers the region's senior-level government officials and future policy makers with an opportunity to explore leadership strategies to improve the delivery of government services in the UAE.
With 56 participants at senior management levels in government departments, the programme offers a platform for interaction with the regional and international think tank on public policy.
