"We are thrilled to open our first stores in Dubai. We are convinced that we can offer our customers added value through fashion and quality at the best price. Considering M.H. Alshaya's strategic retail presence in the region, we are confident that this partnership will provide a much-needed impetus to our growth plans in the Middle East",
says Rolf Eriksen, CEO, H&M.
By offering wardrobe essentials alongside high fashion in each collection, H&M makes it easy for customers to combine different clothes and find their own personal style.
"This is a much-awaited time for the fashion and retail industry in the Middle East. There is huge market potential for H&M and M.H. Alshaya enjoys the regional knowledge and retailing expertise", says Mohamed Alshaya, CEO of M.H. Alshaya.
With more than 100 in-house designers, H&M's collections are created with the customer in mind. Inspired by the Grand Couturiers of the 1950s, 60s and 70s, this season's collection is built around four stylish trends. Mix and match for a complete look: Retro couture inspiration - chic, coordinated, romanticism with reference from the turn of the century, Classics of the classics - British style tailoring and knitwear updated in unexpected materials and color combinations, 1980's music scene - sleek rock style.
This fall, Dubai is also set to experience yet another H&M first. In August, H&M announced its collaboration with design duo Viktor &Rolf for the autumn/winter 2006 season. The exclusive one-time collection will be available in November at selected H&M stores in all H&M markets including the Middle East.
H&M has partnered with Madonna this summer to supply a complete off-stage wardrobe for her crew during her Confessions tour. To celebrate its entry in the United Arab Emirates, H&M is pleased to announce that it will offer its first 350 customers a limited edition Madonna Bag for purchases that are 250 AED or more.
