Four scholarships are being offered for the university's MSc course in Airport Planning & Management, sponsored by DAE Airports, the airport development division of DAE. During the one-year course, students must complete seven modules ranging from Airport Design to Airport Business Management, group projects and seminars, along with a research thesis.
Six scholarships are being offered for the MSc course in Aerospace Vehicle Design, three sponsored by DAE Engineering, the aviation maintenance and support division of DAE, and three by DAE Manufacturing, the research & development, manufacturing and assembly division. The one-year course includes a group design project, an individual thesis, and a lecture course along with two design options.
Dr George H. Ebbs, CEO of DAE University, said:
"It is our mission to champion the development of those who will be integral to the aerospace industry of tomorrow. To do this, we aim to attract students of the highest calibre as we start our first academic year at DAE University, and these scholarships will enable us to attract a broader range of students than would otherwise have been possible."
Each of the scholarships lasts for one year, and covers the tuition fees for the course being undertaken. Scholarship students will be selected on the basis of their qualifications and financial background.
DAE University was launched in February 2006. It recently unveiled a 20-year partnership with the world-renowned Cranfield University, and will offer the first aerospace-focused business and engineering Master and Doctoral programmes in the Middle East.
All of the courses will be validated by Cranfield University and utilise a team of Cranfield's specialist tutors, who will be permanently based in Dubai, working alongside a range of reputed international guest lecturers.
DAE University will be holding two Knowledge Sessions later this month. The first is in Abu Dhabi at the Beach Rotana Hotel on 12th September (7-9pm), and the second in Dubai at the Emirates Towers Hotel on 13th September (7-9pm). At both events, those interested in enrolling will have the opportunity to meet DAE University administrators and the Cranfield University faculty, and discover more about the new aerospace educational institute.
The aerospace sector is one of the most dynamic industries in the world today. The skills gained on these courses at DAE University will empower students, enabling them to further their careers at aerospace companies across the globe.
