  • PRESS RELEASE

Adobe Systems Incorporated, a leading global software and technology solutions provider, is stepping up its presence in the Middle East and Africa (MEA) with plans to open a regional office next year that will cater to its expanding product lines including the growing consumer multimedia sector.

The company, with US$1.966 billion in 2005 revenues, has identified the MEA as one of its strongest potential growth areas. In addition to targeting vertical industries, Adobe will increase its portfolio of Middle East-enabled products to include Dreamweaver, Flash and Flash player.

"With the MEA's design, digital, mobile and wireless devices industry booming, we are looking at a complete transformation in the way consumers engage with information," said Andrew Lindstrom, Regional Manager, Middle East & Africa (MEA), Adobe. "By setting up operations regionally, we aim to develop specialised channel programs to target resellers, user groups and developers."

Adobe products provide developers with a platform to build new applications that can help solve customer problems while enhancing access and improve interaction with information, and deploying them across platforms, devices and carrier networks. Additionally, the company encourages the legitimised usage of software usage through its internationally successful anti-piracy campaign.

"The appointment of a regional Channel Manager will help Adobe spearhead its MEA expansion plans. We will also invest in training our user groups in the new solutions being readied for regional launch." Added Lindstrom.

"More than 600 million end users are already benefiting from Adobe's flagship products - Acrobat and Flash. Our aim is for customers to create unique interactive experiences including personalised images, information and documents, and creatively sharing them."

Adobe Systems recent acquisition of Macromedia has made it one of the world's largest, most innovative and diversified software companies. This is in line with Adobe's strategic initiative to advance a powerful platform, based on PDF and Macromedia® Flash technologies which have a wide range of applications from mobile devices to high-end servers.
