A delegation of Dubai Business Women Council headed by Mrs. Raja Al Gurg, council president, and with the participation of Mrs. Faiza Al Sayed, vice president, Maryam Al Noori, businesswoman and International Committee Affairs of the council and businesswoman Khawla Lootah, will take part in the "Women in Business - An International Perspective - the UAE" which will take place in Sydney, Australia, on September 12.
The conference will also give an opportunity to participants to be introduced to diverse investment fields in both countries. Meetings will be set up with members of the Australian government and the Australian - Arab Chamber of Commerce & Industry.
The Australian Chamber of Commerce & Industry has organized many interviews between Mrs. Marie Bashir, official in administrative district of Sydney and the members of the Executive Committee of the Dubai Business Women Council. Both sides have agreed to set up more meetings between businesswomen and members of the Australian Government in Sydney.
Mrs. Raja Al Gurg, in her talk about woman's role in the United Arab Emirates and her personal experience in the business world, will discuss the periods that the Emarati woman has passed through in the last decades, and how she was able to improve her abilities in this field by making use of the economic upturns in the country and the large number of opportunities available.
Mrs. Faiza Al Sayed will talk about investing opportunities in Dubai. She will mainly focus on the many fields that contain opportunities for investment for businesswomen. Mrs. Al Sayed will also speak on the facilities and services that Dubai Government provides to all investors.
Maryam Al Noori will talk on business in Emirates. She will mention how she established her business. She will also point out the qualities that allowed her to improve her work and become a successful businesswoman.
Mrs. Raja Al Gurg said that, "We in Emirates Business Women Council and in Dubai Business Women Council focus on participating in such business and investment gatherings that contribute greatly in enriching the contribution of the Emarati business woman in the economic life of our country. They allow us to network with business women of friendly countries. Such meetings particularly reflect positively on the increasing business ties between the United Arab Emirates and Australia, helping increase mutual investments in both countries."
Mrs. Al Gurg added that since the invitation for participating in the conference came from the Australian Government, it shows the high rank that Emarati business women enjoy. "It is a great honor and speaks volumes about the image of the country which is witnessing huge economic progress, especially in the sectors of international conferences and events management," she said.
"Dubai economy is one of the most important economies in the region in this and allied fields," she added.
Mrs. Raja Al Gurg reaffirmed that the role of the U.A.E. woman has grown significantly and she has achieved tangible results in all sectors, especially in the business field. She said she was full of confidence on the role of women in the U.A.E. "Their ability in achieving results is equal to that of their male counterparts in fields ranging from trade, information technology and general economics, among others," she said.
The emergence of U.A.E. women in the business world is in large part due to the increase of graduate and post-graduate women, which saw a big hike in the 70s. The U.A.E. government has given them unprecedented assistance with its care for human development in general, and the development of women in particular. This is with the aim of laying a solid foundation to create new jobs in the UAE so that all citizens can be successful in their chosen fields and grow in their careers.
