Falcon starts up

Flag Telecom has started commercial operations through its Falcon undersea cable system, following five years of construction, according to Indian newspaper reports. The fibre optic cable system, which loops through the Middle East from Egypt to India, will bring broadband services to millions of users. Built at a cost of $400m, Falcon gives Flag the largest undersea cable system in the world at 65,000km.
