Brierley comes to Business Objects with a strong track record of strategic selling into the enterprise, particularly in the Business Intelligence industry, as well as many years experience in the Middle East market. Most recently Brierley served as Regional Manager Middle East, Greece and Turkey for Cognos. In this role Brierley was responsible for the Middle East office and the success of the entire region, both through direct operations and the Channel. Before Cognos, Brierley worked in Sales Management for companies including Mediasurface Plc, Intershop Communications Inc and Trustco Plc.

Upcoming events include the Information Technology Petroleum Conference & Exhibition in Egypt (September 4th to 7th), the BusinessObjects XI Release 2 launch in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, at the beginning of November and a massive presence at GITEX 2006 (Stand W9-2).
In recent years Business Objects has established a strong presence in the Middle East and signed up several new customers including Aramco, Saudi Telecom Company, International Foodstuffs Company, Standard Chartered Bank, Commercial Bank of Dubai, RAK Bank, DU, YUM!, Kingdom Hotel Investments, Qatar Foundation, Jordan Telecom, Dubai Healthcare City and National Bank of Dubai. In addition to global partnerships handled locally with IBM and NCR, Business Objects has developed an effective network of local partners and resellers including Al Bilad Arabia, Al Mazroui & Partners, Emitac, Exhortech Business Solutions, Imtac, Intercom, KASP, Master Mind Technology, Mindware, Softflow and Tech Access.
