Emirates Airline celebrated the launch of its new daily non-stop flights to Beijing today, with the airline's senior managers meeting with the local media in the Chinese city, and commemorating its new service with a gala dinner for more than 600 trade partners.

Emirates is operating the route with its wide-body Airbus A340-300, offering 267 seats in a three-class configuration - 12 in First Class, 42 in Business and 213 in Economy - and 13 tonnes of cargo capacity.

Beijing is the 85th destination served by Emirates. In the coming months, the airline will further expand and reinforce its global route network with the introduction of services to Tunis and Bangalore, plus a third daily flight to New York via Hamburg.
At a media conference in Beijing announcing Emirates' official start of services to China's capital city, Ghaith Al Ghaith, Emirates' Executive Vice President Commercial Operations Worldwide, painted the eyes of a Chinese dancing lion at a traditional performance to usher in an auspicious start for the new service. Also pictured are Emirates cabin crew members, Zhu Xiaoyi, Clair Magvire and Feng Yali.
