The media gathering came to reflect the attention that Huawei pays to the role of the Egyptian media in the development of the Egyptian community.
During the gathering, Huawei Technologies emphasized the importance of the Egyptian market and the impressive developments in the CIT industry in the country, which was of a major influence for establishing the company's regional headquarter in Cairo.
'We, at Huawei, have strong belief in the great potential of the Egyptian market, and this enhanced our decision to have Egypt as the regional hub for Huawei's activities in the MENA region,' commented Thomas Zhu, Managing Director, Huawei Technologies in Egypt.
'Huawei has set an aggressive plan for training and investing in the Egyptian calibers and exporting their knowledge and skills to our representative offices across the region,' added Zhu.
Though relatively new to the Egyptian market, established in 1999, Huawei has achieved major projects all are milestones aiming at enhancing the telecommunication services introduced to the Egyptian market.
During the gathering, Huawei highlighted its latest contracts concluded in Egypt with Telecom Egypt for the provision of DWDM technology enabling multiple video, audio and data channels to be transmitted over one fiber and increases the efficiency and bandwidth of networks by supporting different formats.
The company has also, signed contracts with the Egyptian Telephone Company (ETC), for the local production of fixed wireless terminals to cover the needs of the Egyptian market as well as exports.
These contracts are the natural results of the notable achievements delivered in previous successful projects with ETC & TE specially the biggest National Intelligent Network in MENA, Access Network, Optical Network SDH rings, CDMA WLL system among others.
This is to be added to a series of fruitful contracts and projects concluded with key operators and customers in Egypt.
In addition to latest projects, the company also shared its global vision, and strategy, with special focus on Middle East and North Africa, which demonstrates the company's mission to enrich people's lives through communications by helping to bridge the digital divide. Huawei does this by assisting the telecommunications industry and telecom operators of the region achieve sustainable development.
Huawei Technologies has been in the Middle East and North Africa region since 1999 with the opening of its first local subsidiary in Saudi Arabia & Egypt. Today, Huawei Technologies has expanded its operations and is present in over 22 countries across the region.
