DCCI receives Taiwan Trade and Investment Mission

Abdul Rahman G. Al-Mutaiwee, Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry Director General, received the Taiwan Trade and Investment Mission in the Middle East headed by Chen Ching, President and CEO of Yee Nong Group of Companies escorted by Reyming Tu, Deputy Executive Director of Taiwan External Trade Development Council in Dubai and Steve Yang, Director of Taiwan Trade Center in Dubai.

Al-Mutaiwee welcomed the Taiwan delegation stressing the joint friendship and cooperation relations between the chamber and the trade and investment authority in Taiwan.

The meeting also discussed the enhancement of trade relations between the two sides and supporting the economic cooperation between Taiwan businessmen and their counterparts of Dubai.

Al-Mutaiwee also affirmed the importance of these meetings for the role they play in opening up communication channels and efficient economic cooperation between the business communities of both sides.

"DCCI is committed to delivering all and every supports to Taiwan businessmen in Dubai to widen their trade relations with their local counterparts, and we also invite them to participate in all economic events organized in Dubai and supervised by DCCI to be able to promote Taiwan products, which have become market-proven locally," he added.

Al-Mutaiwee also pointed out how important the government support for the economy, and encourages the youth and businessmen to establish trade and investment enterprises, support them and provide them with the right opportunity to take part in the development of the national economy.

For his part, Chen Ching, President and CEO of Yee Nong Group of Companies, indicated the significance of enhancing the trade cooperation with Dubai where his country has inaugurated a trade center through which it strives to support Taiwan businessmen and companies operating in Dubai and strengthen their relations with the local business community.

"Taiwan mission attaches a great attention to strike several commercial partnerships with a number of businessmen in Dubai under the support and supervision of the DCCI to bolster the status of Taiwan companies and effectively promote their activities," Ching added.

Dubai's non-oil foreign trade with Taiwan marked around AED2.6 billion in 2004 where its imports from Taiwan reached around AED2.2 billion, its exports to Taiwan were AED334 million, while its re-exports totally marked AED44.9 million in the same year.
