  • PRESS RELEASE

This September, as thousands of kids across the GCC return to school, there is much more to look forward to than just a new term, as Zee TV announces its biggest ever trophy in School Quizzing.

Hundreds of schools - including 700 from UAE, 75 from Bahrain, 50 from Qatar, 50 from Oman and another 50 from Kuwait - have already enlisted for the prestigious trophy, and the 13-episode quiz show will be telecasted starting 30th September.

Yogesh Radhakrishnan, Managing Director and CEO of Real Media-Zee Network said: "We want to use the trophy as a platform for GCC schools to showcase their bright, young, confident minds. It's a fun way of making learning exciting through non-traditional means. We are thrilled to be contributing towards a culture of knowledge acquisition amongst these students and to provide schools with a productive extra-curricular activity".

The content for the quiz covers a broad range of general knowledge questions including current affairs, sports, literature, entertainment, lifestyle, the environment, nutrition and natural sciences. During each episode, two participants from each school will answer the questions as a team. This year's quiz master for the Middle East Quiz will be the talented, Ameet D'Silva who has already hosted similar Quiz properties in the past.

According to Rajeev Kheror, Creative and Programming Head: "This is not only the biggest quiz show ever to be produced by Zee TV, it will also be one of the biggest inter-school contests in the Middle East region. Through this contest, we hope to emphasize the importance of a well-rounded personality for today's kids/children. Increasingly, we see that education is becoming specialized but, while specialization is indispensable, having a broad general knowledge is equally important".

In addition to the trophy for the winning school, there will be an array of exciting prizes for the winners as well as the runners-up.
