Attendance figures collected midway through the second day of MTF 2006 confirmed growing international interest in the event. 'The total number of trade visitors present at the show had risen by 25% by midday in the second day of the exhibition, as compared to the corresponding period during MTF 2005. This included a record 326 international trade visitors,' said Catherine Vaughan, Marketing Manager, Mediterranean Travel Fair.
The event provided the exhibitors with an opportunity to market their products and services among potential buyers. New exhibitors in particular were impressed with the level of engagement they could achieve during the event, while regular participants said they were satisfied with the consistent developments they see in every session of MTF.
The director of Overseas Promotions on the Dubai stand, Khaled Ibrahim said he was pleased with the level of participants and audience in the Exhibition, indicating that the quality of stands was up to the highest standards.
'We really wish the size of the fair increases to allow for more companies and exhibitors to participate,' he said. Dubai has participated at Mediterranean Travel Fair over the last four years.
The Moroccan delegation, which participated in the event for five years, also expressed the same sentiment. Taibi Khatib, director of Middle East and Asia, said he particularly admired the organisation of the conference and the fact that it attracted a considerable number of key players in the region.
'We have been very pleased with this year's Mediterranean Travel Fair in terms of visitors turnout and exhibition feedback. We are currently reviewing all the strategy options for our event and we will update the travel trade media with an announcement before the end of the year,' said Mr Chris Chackal , Group Exhibition Director , Mediterranean Travel Fair .
