Etisalat participates in GSM-3G Middle East & Gulf

Emirates Telecommunications Corporation-Etisalat- has announced its participation in the GSM-3G Middle East & Gulf conference and exhibition, which is being held at Dubai International Convention Centre, on 11th and 12th September 2006.

The event brings together decision makers, CEOs, senior representatives from the regional and international operators, regulators and industry partners.

Mohammed Khalfan Al Qamzi, Etisalat's CEO, will be presenting the Keynote address at the beginning of the first day of the event.

Ahmed Bin Ali, Manager Corporate Communications, Etisalat, said, "Etisalat has been actively involved in raising the profile of the telecommunications sector in the region, and participates in events and conferences that help improve standards."

"GSM-3G is one of most important events related to GSM technologies and services, as it provides a platform to discuss new trends, services and technologies, while also creating a forum for the exchanging and sharing of experiences and ideas",


he added.

Etisalat aims to highlight its pioneering role in promoting GSM technologies and services in the region and beyond, having been the region's first operator to launch pre-GSM mobile telephony, the first with full country coverage, a prepaid mobile services, Multimedia Messaging Service (MMS), 3G services, High Speed Downlink Packed Access (HSDPA), and the first Gulf country to launch BlackBerry.
