Dubai Properties to increase workforce to 1,500 in 2007
- United Arab Emirates: Tuesday, September 12 - 2006 at 14:12
- PRESS RELEASE
Dubai Properties has implemented three human resource initiatives - Graduate Trainee, Leadership and Fast Track programmes - to facilitate the integration of UAE nationals into the property sector and upgrade the management skills of senior personnel.
Yaqoob Al Zarooni, Executive Director of Corporate Planning & Performance, Dubai Properties said, "Dubai Properties' human resources initiatives are designed to foster the growth of an indigenous workforce within the organisation. We also aim to develop a skilled team of professionals that is equipped to cope with the dynamic property market."
Dubai Properties' annual Graduate Trainee programme selects 20 UAE nationals, of which seven are included in a three month summer internship roster. The remaining 13 are offered one-year work placements with various departments of Dubai Properties based on their academic qualifications.
Twenty senior staff at Dubai Properties are identified for the Leadership Programme through an internal assessment process. The uniquely structured management training programme offers managers and directors the opportunity to hone their management skills through the exchange of ideas, experiences and knowledge with renowned business leaders and professionals, in a highly interactive context.
Similar to the Leadership programme the Fast Track programme offers a one year mentorship to its chosen candidates to be promoted to Chief Officer or director level within the company or among one of Dubai Holding's entities. In 2006, 11 UAE nationals and three other nationalities have been identified and have also been given the choice to follow a postgraduate study programme.
Al Zarooni added that Dubai Properties not only offers remarkable opportunities for UAE nationals who are willing to be part of a professional working environment, it also empowers them with the skills needed to succeed in a competitive market.
Apart from in-house training sessions for UAE nationals, Dubai Properties also contributes AED 50 million annually towards the Kawader program, which oversees the development and education of high-school graduates through seminars and training sessions.
