The eCompetency centre, in collaboration with senior consultants of the SHL Group (UK), will employ the latest techniques of international standards in 4 workshops covering leadership, administration, inculcation and development. The course of the training will span a period of 10 months.
Dr. Doaa Fares, General Manager Etisalat Academy, said, 'The eCompetency Centre at the Academy has clearly proven its capabilities in assessing and developing competencies for major companies. Oman Mobile is the second major project for the eCompetency centre in the GCC. Prior to this, we have worked closely with Qtel, Qatar's Telecommunication Corporation.'
Through the 4 workshops, the eCompetency Centre will be able to view and asses the current status of the competency of the department heads and managers, and will be able to determine the procedures needed to develop them. A team of consultants, from Etisalat Academy and SHL Group (UK), will be dedicated to the Oman Mobile staff throughout the period of the training.
Mohamed Al Gailani, Human Resources Manager Oman Mobile, said, 'At Oman Mobile, we are very conscious of the need to train our Omani workforce in order to comply with world class standards. By applying these techniques, we will definitely achieve and provide the best services to our customers. We are happy to work closely with the Etisalat Academy and the experts at the eCompetency Centre in order to utilize their experience in developing and training our employees.'
He also said, 'We will continue to develop our collaboration with Etisalat Academy in all areas of professional training and development in order to improve our national workforce in our company. This will help maximize productivity along with maintaining the highest standards in terms of professionalism.'
Mariam Mohamed, Competency Centre Manager - Etisalat Academy, said, 'Investment in human capital is crucial for an organization to excel. The results and solutions offered by the Competency Centre are showing impressive results in streamlining the efficiency of human resource departments in organizations. The Academy has been very successful in raising the level of professional standards in the region in line with international best practices.'
The Competency Centre at the Etisalat Academy is becoming one of the main centres to assess and develop human capital in private and public organizations. Its strategic techniques have proved beneficial by organizing the correct structure in a company after a series of assessment tests are taken by the targeted staff. The results, once implemented, will assign the right employee for the right job, thus, increasing performance and output.
