Radisson SAS Hotel, Dubai Deira Creek appoints Director of Sales and Marketing

Radisson SAS Hotel, Dubai Deira Creek, part of the first-class brand of the fast-growing Rezidor SAS Hospitality, has appointed Walid Al-Awa as its Director of Sales and Marketing.

The property is currently the InterContinental Hotel Dubai, an established landmark on the Deira Creekside and will be re-branded Radisson SAS as of next month.

Al-Awa, a Syrian national, takes up his new role from the Four Seasons Damascus, Syria where he was Director of Sales. Al-Awa brings an impressive track record to Radisson SAS with nearly a decade of experience in hospitality industry sales. He has held leading sales positions at the Al Jubail InterContinental Hotel in Saudi Arabia, The Ritz-Carlton and Le Royal Meridian in Bahrain.

"Walid's primary role is to grow the hotel's sales revenue. His comprehensive knowledge and experience in hospitality sales will be a real benefit to this challenging role of helping to establish the emirate's oldest five-star property under a fresh new brand," said Andreas Flückiger, General Manager, Radisson SAS Hotel, Dubai Deira Creek.

Radisson SAS Hotel, Dubai Deira Creek has 287 guest-rooms, including 39 suites, 16 food and beverage outlets as well as meeting and events facilities.

In November 2005, Rezidor SAS signed a worldwide license agreement with the Italian fashion house Missoni, to develop and operate a lifestyle hotel brand of the same name: Hotel Missoni.
