First time in the Middle East, Martin brings with him 9 years of working experience from Europe. His love for travel and an international career made him decide on the hotel business as a career path. He started learning the ropes in the Banqueting department at the Sheraton Amsterdam Airport Hotel & Conference Centre before moving on into the Accounting department, a complex department for both the Sheraton Amsterdam Airport Hotel & Conference Centre and the Hotel Pulitzer.
However, deciding that he is a man on the field - being hands on and meeting guests and associates is more his cup of tea - Martin decided to move back into the Food & Beverage department and worked his way up to Assistant Food & Beverage Manager, enriching his knowledge in Purchasing along the way, when he took up the position of a Complexed Purchasing Manager for two years.
After the long stint with both the Sheraton Amsterdam Airport Hotel & Conference Centre as well as the Hotel Pulitzer, Martin decided it was time to move out of Europe in search for international exposure.
This brought him to Dubai, a dynamic haven for hoteliers. Diners to the 5 food and beverage outlets at Four Points by Sheraton Bur Dubai will soon see the hotel's international standards and service culture being enhanced further. Martin hopes to upgrade the training for his associates, equipping them with an even higher level of people and anticipatory skills through sharing of his work experiences with his team.
When he is not busy checking on the operations of his restaurants and kitchens, Martin relaxes by traveling, playing squash and tennis and by eating and drinking - dining with friends and checking out the competition.
