DCCI introduces a Japanese trade telegation to the features of investment in Dubai

Atiq Juma Nasib, Director of Business Development Department at the Dubai Chamber of Commerce & Industry (DCCI) yesterday received a Japanese delegation in coordination with the Japan External Trade Organization (Jetro) that was presided over by Hirokazu Ono, President of Dhowa-Technos Co. Ltd., and included presidents and directors of some top Japanese commercial and industrial companies.
He conducted a presentation on how to make Dubai a business base in the Middle East, through which he highlighted the role of the DCCI in supporting Dubai's development in accordance to its vision which aims at being an indispensable source for businessmen. He also stressed the new strategy which the DCCI has adopted recently and which has attributed to presenting quality and valued-added services to its members whose number has surged to over 80,000.
"Dubai provides an encouraging investment environment to practice business in the emirate which has became a major business hub in the Middle East. It also imposes no levies on private income and no corporate taxes especially on companies that operate in Dubai free zones," said Nasib.
He pointed out that Dubai also enjoys an advanced and integrated infrastructure as its non-oil sectors GDP growth rate surged to 16% in 2005, whereas the trade between Dubai and Japan increased by 29% in 2004, compared to 2003. Dubai has also recorded a 32% rise in the volumes of its imports from Japan. The non-oil trade between Dubai and Japan reached AED 11 billion in 2004, as the value of Dubai imports from Japan reached AED 10.5 billion in 2004, whereas Dubai's exports to Japan in the same year hit AED 314.2 million, and Dubai's re-exports to Japan reached AED 138.2 million in the same year.
Hirokazu Ono, head of the Japanese delegation, expressed his government's interest in supporting the strong relations between Dubai and Japan.
