Details on the event and Etihad's unique sponsorship of the event were given at today's press conference, which was attended by HH Sheikh Sultan bin Tahnoon Al Nahyan, chairman of Abu Dhabi Tourism Authority.
"Etihad is delighted to be the official airline for Gastech 2006, especially because this year's event is taking place in Abu Dhabi, the home of Etihad Airways and one of the world's energy capitals,"
said Raymond Korban, regional general manager, UAE and Oman, Etihad Airways.
It is the second occasion that Etihad has sponsored Gastech, following last year's successful event which was held in the northern Spanish city of Bilbao.
Gastech 2006 will be held at the Emirates Palace Hotel and the Abu Dhabi International Exhibition Centre between 4 and 7 December 2006.
"With many of the world's leading gas industry figures coming to Abu Dhabi, this is another perfect opportunity to showcase the dynamic progress the UAE's national airline is making," continued Korban.
"Etihad continues to build on our reputation for luxury and hospitality, and we look forward to welcoming the dignitaries and visitors who will visit for Gastech 2006."
Gastech 2006 will be co-hosted by ADNOC (Abu Dhabi National Oil Company), Dolphin Energy and other key Abu Dhabi-based organisations.
The Gastech conference and exhibition is held every 18 months, alternating between gas producing and gas consuming countries.
