Dubai International Arbitration Center (DIAC) organizes a training course on dispute resolution next November

Dubai International Arbitration Center (DIAC), in cooperation with King's College London, will be organizing a 4-day training course on international commercial arbitration on November 7-10, 2006 at the premises of the DCCI, in response to the widespread use of arbitration to resolving disputes in international business and economic transactions and due to the need of increasing the number of internationally-qualified arbitrators.

Dr. Hussam Al Talhuni, Director of DIAC, said that the training course aims at enhancing the participants' awareness in the field of commercial arbitration and to further contribute towards their self-development in becoming international prospective arbitrators and experts. He noted that the course will include lectures and workshops that focus on the unique aspects of international commercial arbitration.

He pointed out that the training course is the first of its kind in the Gulf region as it is expected to attract a number of top world and Arab professionals and experts in international commercial arbitration who have long experiences and high qualifications in the field of commercial dispute resolution.

Dr. Al Talhuni said that the course will be basically addressing lawyers, government officials, officers of judicial and legal training departments, as well as oil companies, banking institutions and others who meet the participation conditions. The participants will have the opportunity to meet and interact with professionals of various commercial and judicial fields.

The participants of the course will be honored in a closing gala dinner in which they, as well as DIAC's new members, will be given certificates of participation in the presence of DIAC Board of Trustees including top international commercial arbitrators, giving the training course a worldwide importance.

DIAC offers high caliber commercial dispute resolution services with the help of various international arbitrators, and this course comes in the line of DIAC's strategy to help companies resolve their disputes in effective ways.
