UAE Minister wants open skies

The UAE Minister of Economy, Sheikha Lubna Al Qasimi, has called for greater liberalisation of the air travel industry in order to generate more jobs and drive economic progress, reported Gulf News. The minister told a conference in Dubai that while technology had moved forward rapidly, regulations had lagged behind. She pointed to the fact that air service agreements and landing rights could often be barriers to progress.
