D&B organizes seminar on credit risk management- Basel II

Dun and Bradstreet recently hosted a seminar in its series of Thought Leadership Forums - a Seminar on Basel II in Doha on the 11th September.

The D&B team comprised of D&B South Asia Middle East Ltd. CEO Rajesh Mirchandani, Chief Operating Officer V Narasimhan and Risk Management Solutions Architect Dr. V. Subramaniam.

With the significance of Basel II in the financial sector, several reputed Qatari financial institutions attended this seminar and shared their knowledge at this forum. These institutions included Qatar Central Bank, Qatar National Bank, Doha Bank, Commercial Bank of Qatar, Qatar International Islamic Bank, Qatar Industrial Development Bank, HSBC Bank, First Finance, Mashreqbank, Bank Saderat Iran, Investment House, Standard Chartered Bank, United Bank Limited and Kuwait Financial Centre.

D&B, focusing on the emerging trends in the banking and financial services sector worldwide, presented it as part of the series of events that they have been organizing in several countries in the region.

CEO Rajesh Mirchandani said, "With the success of these seminars and the banking community's interest in D&B, we look forward to hosting similar events to support the financial infrastructure developments taking place in the region."

The speakers added that in today's credit driven market, the importance of credit risk management and assessment cannot be overstated. The exponential growth in retail credit offerings has been accompanied by greater exposure to risks. In this scenario, ensuring consistent and unbiased decision making is crucial.
