  • PRESS RELEASE

In a ceremony attended by Dr Lance de Masi, President, and Dr Jihad Nader, Provost, 42 American University in Dubai students were officially inducted in the prestigious Golden Key International Society.

Golden Key International Society, a non profit Honor Society, established in 1977 in the United States, recognizes top achievers among junior and senior university students. AUD, in order to increase the prestige associated with membership, has exercised great selectivity by offering membership only to the top 10%, academically, of its students.

Today, Golden Key has more than 350 chapters worldwide in 7 countries: Australia, Canada, Malaysia, New Zealand, South Africa, the United Arab Emirates and the United States. The American University in Dubai's chapter is the only chapter in the region.

Since its founding in 1977, Golden Key International Honour Society has emerged as one of the most prestigious and dynamic organizations in higher education, committed not only to recognize and award academic achievement, but also to develop personal growth, leadership potential, and community service through active participation in altruistic activities. Golden Key also provides its members with career and internship opportunities through its partnerships with major corporations across the globe.

"The formation of a chapter of the Golden Key International Honour Society at the American University in Dubai is a key component in AUD's promise to provide the highest quality educational experience. This society allows AUD to further a culture of excellence as we highlight students' achievement in all academic areas. As the advisor, I am very excited to be able to work with students of this quality; students who have demonstrated not only brilliance but also discipline and character," said Dr Marc K Burtch, Assistant Professor of Mathematics at the University and coordinator of the Golden Key International Society.
