Dertour officials in Dubai for Reiseakademie preparations

The Director General of Dubai Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing (DTCM), Mr. Khalid A bin Sulayem, held discussions with a senior delegation from Germany's high-profile tour operator, Dertour, to review the preparations for holding the prestigious Dertour Reiseakademie in Dubai in November.
Mr. Erwin Dreiser, President Sales and Promotion, Dertour, briefed Mr. bin Sulayem about the arrangements and thanked the DTCM and Dubai Convention Bureau (DCB) for the support and cooperation extended to ensure the event's success.
Also present on the occasion were the DCB Director, Mr. Awadh Seghayer Al Ketbi, Mr. Frederic Bardin, Vice President, Arabian Adventures, and Mr. Peter Payer, Operations Manager, Arabian Adventures.
Mr. bin Sulayem, said: "DERTOUR Reiseakademie in Dubai clearly reflects the support we enjoy in the German market. As far as we could see, the future looks bright. German visitors will play a significant role in ensuring that Dubai achieves its ambitious growth agenda."
"High-profile tour operators like DERTOUR have been contributing enormously in bringing a large number of visitors to Dubai, which is dedicated to quality and high standard services," he remarked.
The first Reiseakademie in Dubai was held in 1997. In the past, DERTOUR played an essential role in attracting German tourists to Dubai, and this year's Reiseakademie will definitively be another milestone for further growth in the future."
For Dubai, Germany is the second largest source market in Europe and ranks number seventh worldwide. Presently, up to 112 weekly flights are available between Dubai and Germany. The total number of German guests in Dubai hotel in 2005 totaled 264,298, an increase of 12 per cent from 2004. As many as 184 German tour operators are featuring Dubai in their programmes, an increase of 19 % compared with 2004-2005 period.
DERTOUR, the market leader for long-haul travel in Germany, is holding the event in Dubai to show the German Sales Agents the new and exciting developments in Dubai and thereby help them to be the strongest Dubai Sales Agents.
German Association of Travel Agents and Tour Operators (DRV), the world's third largest travel association with over 5,000 national and international members, hosted its convention in October 2005 in Dubai, the seventh venue outside Europe in DRV's 55 years history."
