Hybrid HD DVD Blu-ray disk

Engineers have developed a hybrid disk that could play standard DVDs, as well as HD DVD and Blu-ray formats, possibly ending the format war. The disk stores the information for each format at a different depth. Blu-ray data is written 0.1mm from the surface, while HD-DVD information is stored at a depth of 0.6mm.
